From humble beginnings, Kreyling Construction has grown to be one of the most respected builders in Rappahannock County. Our success is due to a few simple principles; producing the highest quality product, standing behind the product, and honesty and fairness in our business dealings. Kreyling Construction builds custom homes. Each of our projects is tailored to the unique requirements of each of our clients. We enjoy working in beautiful Rappahannock County so we don’t just do “big” jobs. Our portfolio includes everything from “mobile chicken coops,” a 600 square foot solar apartment, out buildings and barns, as well as detailed custom homes of 6000 square feet. Projects have ranged in style from contemporary to “Virginia Vernacular” to renovations/restorations of historic homes.

Founder/owner Peter Kreyling’s “back to the land” roots and oriental upbringing have instilled in him an appreciation of our relationship with the earth, and importance of working with nature. The placement and design of a home should harmonize with the site, taking advantage of the sun’s energy and natural protection from wind and weather. These details can make a tremendous impact on the comfort, “enjoyability” and energy efficiency of your home.

Kreyling Construction offers an in-house design service focusing on earth-friendly "green building." With over 30 years of experience in solar design and construction techniques, Peter is able to work with clients in order to translate their dreams into reality. Our draftsperson,Fred Naramore, graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Architecture and has over 20 years of designing experience.

The design process begins with a site visit and an extensive questionnaire to assess possibilities and determine the client's tastes, needs, and budget. After a series of meetings developing a favorable design, we produce a full set of construction documents suitable for bidding and permit submittal.
